Long before Village to Village Doulas had a name, it began with a calling—a young mother deeply moved by her first birth experience and the stories of her sisters. That initial journey into motherhood sparked a passion for birth work and a commitment to creating a more compassionate, informed, and supportive experience for all birthing people.
Following the birth of her first child, Aijanae became a doula and began what would become a 7-year journey supporting over 100 families through birth and postpartum. During this time, she had the privilege of welcoming two more children of her own. Each experience—both personal and professional—continued to shape her approach to care, grounding her work in empathy, presence, and deep respect for the parenting journey.
Village to Village Doulas truly came to life during one of the most challenging seasons of Aijanae’s life, as she supported her son through his brave battle with cancer in 2023. When moments marked by fear and uncertainty, community showed up again and again, offering care, strength, and love.
That experience solidified a vision: to build something lasting and rooted in trust, compassion, and community. Village to Village Doulas was born not just as a business, but as a reflection of the village that carried her family through, and the legacy she continues to build.
Today, Aijanae leads a growing team serving families across Washington through a collaborative, relationship-based model of care. Every family supported is an opportunity to give back what was so generously given to her.
Because no one should have to navigate this journey alone. And when we walk together, village to village, everything becomes possible.
